Dear readers,
We have struggled. We have suffered. We have changed. We have changed the world. But most importantly: we have made it! And at the end of 2020 there is a new beginning.
We at Ri want to close this year with three contributions on three topics that have particularly moved us this year and will also particularly accompany us in the new year: The European Commission’s proposal on e-evidence regulation, the European Central Bank’s plans for a central bank digital currency (CBDC), and remote treatment in a COVID-19 shaken world.
First of all, these contributions are about changes. Changes, driven by digitization, that not only break new ground, but above all transcend boundaries. Second, these contributions
address important facts that have been overlooked in the past and could be overlooked again – to the detriment of many. Third, we welcome the change. But never change simply for the sake of change. The goal of change cannot be a Shakespeare’s: Hell is empty – and all the devils are here.
In this time of change we at Ri send you all the best wishes and don’t forget:
Be the change that you wish to see in the world.
– Mahatma Gandhi
